Super king bed frames

Choosing a super king bed base

A super king gives you and a partner generous room to sleep, which makes it a natural fit for master bedrooms. Check exact sizes in our mattress size guide. The base beneath your mattress shapes how the bed feels. Several of our frames, including the Adina and the Charlotte, sit on a sprung slatted base, while the Harrison Spinks Classic Divan Base and Premium Divan Base pair a layer of padding with built-in springs.

Oak and upholstered super king bed frames

The material of your frame sets the feel of the room. Our oak super king bed frames bring the warmth of natural timber, and frames such as the Adina and Aureum are crafted from solid, sustainable weathered oak. The Aureum pairs its oak frame with a high, winged headboard upholstered in 100% linen, while the Chamonix Rattan and Sienna Beau Rattan bring the light, airy feel of rattan to a solid weathered oak frame. For a softer look, the Cambourne is upholstered in latte bouclé with a gently curved headboard, and the Charlotte comes in rich velvet or a soft woven fabric. Compare timber and upholstered designs in our buyer's guide to beds.

Super king beds with storage

A super king bed with storage keeps spare duvets and linens out of sight. Our super king ottoman beds open from the side or the front to reveal the space beneath the mattress. The Orla lifts from the side and gives you 21.5cm of storage depth, the Charlotte Electric opens at the touch of a button with a light inside, and the Harrison Spinks ottoman divan bases lift from the front on air-pressured pistons. Some of our super king divan beds come with drawers instead. For more ideas on a calm, tidy bedroom, read our guide to the art of decluttering.

Delivery to your room of choice

Our super king bed frames arrive in two to six separate packages, depending on the design, with free delivery to your room of choice on all orders going to mainland England, Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Wight. Most come with assembly instructions if you would rather build the bed yourself.

What is bigger than a super king bed?

An Emperor bed, at 200cm by 200cm, is bigger than a super king, which measures 180cm by 200cm. If you are choosing between a king and a super king, our king vs super king guide sets out the differences.

How much space do you need for a super king bed?

We recommend at least 16 square metres of floor space for a super king bed. That leaves room for the bed alongside your bedside tables and wardrobe, so the room stays balanced. Before you order, measure your doorways and staircases too, so the bed can reach the room you have chosen for it.

Which super king bed base should you choose?

Choose by the feel you prefer. A sprung slatted base responds to movement and lets air flow beneath the mattress. A traditional divan base has deep sides with a layer of padding and built-in springs, and some come with drawers for extra storage.

Do super king beds come with a mattress?

Our super king bed frames and bases are listed separately from our mattresses, so you can pair your frame with the super king mattress that suits your preferred tension. On most of our frames you can add a mattress when you order, or choose No Mattress if you already have one.

What are some styling tips for a super king size bed?

Stack two king pillows against a square continental pillow on each side to build height against the headboard. Our bedding and pillow size guide sets out each size, including 65cm x 65cm for a continental pillow and 50cm x 90cm for a super king pillow. Finish with a throw and a few cushions, and read our guide on how to dress a super king bed for more ideas.

What size and style of bedside tables best complement a super king size bed?

Choose bedside tables between 60cm and 70cm wide to suit the width of a super king frame. For height, aim for the top of your mattress or up to 5cm above it, which usually means 55cm to 65cm. Our guide on how to style a bedside table has more ideas, and our guide to the joys of coordinating bedroom furniture shows how our coordinated collections bring a room together.
