How To: Do Hygge in 2017
You might have first heard of it last year, but let’s get this straight: hygge is not a passing trend – it’s a way of living. With that in mind, we recommend some of the best ways to create hygge (pronounced ‘hue-gah’) in your bedroom this November…
A Danish phrase, in its simplest form the word hygge can be translated to mean ‘cosiness’. However, it’s also much more than this, and could be better described as ‘the pursuit of everyday happiness’ (who doesn’t want some of that?).
Hygge isn’t about being lazy. Rather, it’s about finding pleasure in the small things that bring us comfort. It’s reading the Sunday supplements in bed with a cup of hot coffee. It’s falling asleep to your favourite podcast. It’s the feeling of fresh linen, the smell of lavender on your pillow, a scented candle burning on the bedside table.
To enjoy hygge, make sure you’ve created a bedroom that you want to spend time in – not just sleep in. Below, we’ve selected some of our favourite Feather and Black pieces sure to help you find small moments of happiness this autumn:
