How to: Make the most of a small bedroom
With the right design hints and tips, your small bedroom will soon become the perfect, cosy retreat. A smaller bedroom doesn’t mean it’s any less beautiful – just follow our recommendations to breathe new life into your interior.
Firstly, make sure you work from a set colour palette, which is made up of no more than 2 or 3 colours. Too many hues can overwhelm small bedrooms; we’d instead say that white will serve you well because it brings an airy feel. Make the most of any natural light on offer too by keeping window accessories (which could feel like clutter in a small bedroom) to a minimum.
Of course, storage is key in small bedrooms. Clever storage solutions can make such a difference and we’d point you in the direction of floor to ceiling fitted units, which make the most out of every inch. Mirrors are also very useful if you want to create an illusion of space.
Investing in custom made furniture could be a wise move too – guaranteeing there’s no wasted space. Plus, if you have a narrow room, bring out the back wall as a feature wall for an added sense of space and all sorts of personality.
