Get the look: Pastels
Pretty Pastels are a huge trend this spring. Take inspiration from scoops of ice cream, sugary seaside rock and beautiful spring time blooms. The Candy palette is delicate, think blush pink, baby blue, lemon yellow, lilac and vanilla.
It is so easy to work into your bedroom, home and look.
I love the beautiful pastel pages in April’s Good Homes magazine. They inspired me to try the trend beyond the bedroom. The secret seems to be mixing pastel with a white background and you can’t really go wrong. The easiest way to use pastel is to add blossom into the room. Beautiful flowers are a subtle and effective way of using pastel. For me, subtle isn’t enough, I love the sweetie shop look so the more pretty pinks and loveliness the better. I like stripy wallpaper, floral patterned sofas and candy coloured artwork.
For my wardrobe I am not yet brave enough to dress like a stick of Margate Rock a la Holly Fulton’s Catwalk Collection, so instead I am going to mix creams with pretty pastel accessories. My key pieces for this are the sugary sweet Vivienne Westwood Melissa Shoes, and if they don’t look candy cute enough just smell them…they are bubble-gum scented…delicious! My other perfect accessory will be the new Mulberry Cookie Bayswater, the lace trim is so delicate and pastel pretty…it is top of my wish list.
