It's time for a spring clean
British summer time officially begins this Sunday 28th March so it is the perfect excuse to grab your marigolds, dust off the vacuum cleaner and get started on that housework. Don’t you just adore the smell of freshly cut grass, and the sound of birds chirping in the green and blossoming trees? Bliss!
Dust away those winter blues and get ready for the summer with a good old fashioned clean out, you can even get the children involved. A good spring clean will cleanse the mind free of those depressing winter months and can be very therapeutic, it might even help you burn off some calories! A traditional spring clean rejuvenates the house creating a lovely sense of beginning ready for a busy year ahead; bring on the picnics, the garden parties, and the potato salad!
When the warm weather finally veers its sleepy head, it is time to pack away those thermal vests and woollen jumpers for a few months at least! Ensuring that your storage containers are clean, dry and cool your winter clothes will be ideal for next year. We have great storage options for you; our Miller range has a canvas collapsible under bed storage box with a clear zip lid and removable compartments to create very versatile storage. Our other storage option is the attractive Water Hyacinth collection; hand woven with a cream linen liner a storage option to suit your every need and looks very stylish in the bedroom.
If you are clearing out any unwanted items, then don’t forget to recycle, it’s so easy - lots of supermarkets have recycling facilities that take clothes, glass and books etc! Or perhaps you could take any old clothing, home ware and textiles to your local charity shops. You could even do a car boot sale to start saving for that summer holiday, car boot sales are also a great way to find unique pieces of furniture and home accessories that you won’t find in the shops for bargain prices.
The start of Spring is a great time to check your home appliances for wear and tear. Refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dish washers and tumble driers should all be checked and cleaned – just in case they breakdown when you need them most!
