How to: Create a hotel experience at home

The last room we see at night and the first room we see in the morning will be your bedroom, unless you’re staying at a hotel. Staying at a lovely hotel is something we all enjoy, so why not recreate the same feel at home?

We think it's little use trying to skimp and save on your bedroom. Luxury can be a part of your everyday life if you plan well; to help you do this, just brainstorm your ideas before starting and maybe create some mood boards too. It’s worth taking all the time you need to make sure of the look you’re trying to achieve.

Comfort is everything when it comes to a hotel stay, so an excellent quality mattress is essential. We spend one third of our lifetimes in bed, so it’s important our mattress provides the support you need. Having bed linen with a high thread count is also preferable if you’re really going for the hotel look – our Hotel Collection linen is the perfect choice here.

Don’t forget about plump pillows and luxury towels too. Towels are often made from Egyptian cotton in luxe hotels; these are both soft and strong. Silky fibres help to give the towels high absorbency and durability. Take a look at our Egyptian cotton towel collection here.

Once you have created your luxurious bedroom retreat, you must maintain it if you want to walk into the hotel experience whenever you enter the room. So that means making sure the bed is made properly every morning with a clean floor area and bathroom.

Do you think you make your bedroom feel more like a hotel experience? Or maybe we’ve missed something out? Let us know in the comments or on social.

See you soon,

Feather & Black.
