Win a sleep beauty hero set
We’ve teamed up with This Works for our latest competition which, if you’re lucky enough to win, will see you collect the prize of a Sleep Beauty Hero Set worth £55. This Works is an award-winning skincare brand.
The set includes a Sleep Plus Pillow spray 75ml, clinically proven to help you have a good night’s sleep, and an In-Transit Camera Close-Up 40ml - a mask, moisturiser and primer all in one. The pillow spray is also a fast acting natural remedy to help restore healthy sleep patterns for restless sleepers.
Preventing sleepless nights is the Holy Grail for some, so we’re sure this competition will be very popular! But this also got me thinking about some of the other, more natural sleep remedies; so I’ve listed some of the best (and weird) ones below.
Have you tried Feng Shui?
The Chinese philosophy of thinking isn’t just limited to your living room; try rearranging your bedroom too for a good night’s sleep. For example, some of the most popular tips involve making sure your bed is accessible from all sides and opening windows to keep the air pure and making fresh energies.
Have a Valarian cuppa
Valarian is a plant whose roots are sedative and can aid sleep. Its calming effect can reduce levels of anxiety when you sleep and you can add a teaspoon of the plant’s root to your brew to help you nod off.
Psychology and milk
A strange combination maybe, but although there isn’t any concrete evidence that milk does improve sleep, one warm glass of milk is said to be very soothing before going to bed, both physically and mentally.
Magnesium is one of the important minerals and if you’re lacking in it, you might be having a tough time drifting off in bed. Magnesium calms your nervous system which helps prepare your body for night time, so try some magnesium supplements if you think your unbalanced diet leaves you short of supply.
