Time for a new mattress

If you’re trying to ignore the tell-tale signs of mattress wear and tear; it’s no use, you need to bite the bullet and invest in a new mattress. Mattresses are designed to last around 7-8 years, which makes buying a new one quite an important decision (no pressure!)

But we understand your caution, so that’s why we thought we’d put together this useful blog post and help you through the process of replacing your mattress. It can be a little confusing reading over different mattress specifications and trying to make sense of complicated technical details.

Spotting the signs

There are a few easy signs to spot if you need a new mattress. You don’t have to be an expert to notice any of those listed below…

Does your mattress feel lumpy and uncomfortable?

Is it stained in colour?

Do you wake up with a few aches and pains?

Do you and your partner roll towards one another at night?

Taking a lie down on a potential new mattress is important if you’re to make the right purchase. You have to be sure on which tension suits you and your partner best; whether that be firm or soft. Testing a new mattress in store is an especially useful exercise if you’ve got a history of back problems and need the perfect fit to suit your body. After all, everyone is different and what’s ideal for one person may be completely different for another.
