Get the Trend: 2017 Bedrooms

Now that 2017 is here, we thought we’d talk about which main bedroom trends will define the year.

Let’s start with the Pantone Colour of the Year for 2017. A refreshing and revitalising shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings. Greenery is described as being a versatile, “trans-seasonal” shade that lends itself to many colour combinations, including neutrals, brights and deeper shades. In many ways, Greenery also represents urban planning, architecture, lifestyle and the design choices which 2017 may bring around the world.

You can read more about how we are embracing green on the Ideal Home Show website.

In terms of bedroom trends, 2017 looks to be one defined by dusky blues, intended to recall the colours of the ocean and other seaside vibes. Powder blue is also on the up this year, especially when paired with dark wooden flooring.

Terracotta is also high on the comeback agenda for 2017 according to bedroom designers, with terracotta tiling replacing the popular cool and white bedroom look. Meanwhile, upholstered beds look set to head the market for the year ahead as people seek an easy way to add instant glamour to their interior.

Be wary of any out-going styles too, for example – quote artworks have now become outdated.
