Introducing our new eco friendly mattress

Introducing the Hemingway mattress, one of the newest additions to our mattress story, and what a mighty fine addition it is. The Hemingway of course is of the same high quality as our current range of Pocket Sprung mattresses, but has a slightly different story to tell.

Hemingway boasts a massive 8000 Revolution HD Pocket Springs. An award winning ‘coil within a coil’ spring system combining larger outer springs with a set of smaller springs nestling inside. This offers a highly responsive outer layer providing additional tension when more pressure is applied, meaning you get extra support when and where it’s needed. But that’s not all…

Our Hemingway mattress has the green factor, using only 100% natural upholstery fillings. All of our pocket sprung mattresses are made at Harrison Spinks in Yorkshire. Egyptian cotton, mohair and wool form the soft and luxurious sleeping surface of the Hemmingway. Then theinnovative eco fibre Hempure (unique to Harrison Spinks) makes part of the hand teased blend to fill the mattress, along with Horsehair, cashmere and wool. Hempure is strong and absorbent, naturally occurring, sustainable and biodegradable. Then on top of all that, the wool used in this mattress is locally sourced from Harrison’s very own sheep farm.

Harrisons Spinks’ farm enables them to produce their own wool and the flax used for the outer material, meaning that they know exactly where the fillings are from and can rely 100% on the quality of their mattress fillings. Plus, the farm is just over 20 miles from the headquarters of Harrisons Spinks, therefore rapidly reducing the number of miles the business clocks up to get the materials they need.
