Top 3: Sleep Tips for the Party Season
Party season is well and truly here...and while we love an excuse to let our hair down, we're not so keen on the effect it has on our sleep. Fortunately, we have prepared a checklist to help you through the most full-on month of the year...
- Make your bedroom a Christmas-free zone
Find Christmas a bit stressful? Save your decorations for the rest of your house and concentrate on creating a calm and peaceful mood in your bedroom – think warm lamps, cosy throws...and no flashing fairy lights!
- Go easy on the drinks
We all love a glass of bubbly or two around Christmas, but you'll feel a lot better if you drink in moderation. A big night of boozing not only gives us a hangover but disrupts our entire sleep cycle, and we don't get the REM (dreaming) we need. Our advice: lay off the sugary drinks and try to drink water in between.
- Allow yourself some 'me time'
Socialising, hosting, cooking, shopping... Sometimes you have to just switch off and recharge the batteries. Before bedtime, try running a warm bath, lighting a scented candle and listening to some relaxing music to really zone out.
