Redecorating your bedroom

With Christmas now over and the New Year well underway, it must be appealing to give your bedroom a refresh now all the Xmas decorations have been boxed away for another year. If you’re on the lookout for either a complete design change or just some new furniture pieces, you’ve come to the right place.

In terms of bedroom décor trends, 2016 promises to award style to those who opt for simplified colour schemes, black and white shades with pops of bright colour, impressive centrepieces and oversized lighting features. Mixing contemporary technology with traditional furnishings is very much on-trend too, with many putting a modern twist on basic bedroom designs.

We’d recommend pairing dark shades with copper accessories this year, just like our stunning Manhattan in Navy fabric. If you’re really going all out to get the look, why not finish off with some perfect white linens? They’ll add instant sophistication and stand out against such a dark bedstead.

If that’s not your cup of tea, try indulging your bedroom in some super rich textures. This can be easily done by adding a few well-placed accessories, like our Natural Linen Cushions or Velvet Throws. With an eye-catching mix of bold colours, our hand knotted Edmond Rug can also be thrown into the mix too.

However, there aren't too many things more eye-catching than our Hand Painted Stools; we think the Orange Mother of Pearl’s warming shades (especially handy for winter!) would perfectly complement a rich interior style.

On the other hand, 2016's Pantone Colour of the Year is a blending of 2 shades; Rose Quartz and Serenity, which represent calm and relaxation. The colour selections are said to aid general well-being, as well as provide an antidote to modern day stresses. So perhaps a new lick of Rose Quartz or Serenity paint in your bedroom will go a long way to reduce any anxiety levels!
