Nestled among the trees, peeping between the delicate ivy is the stunning, Pennyhill Park Hotel, Surrey. Surrounded by formal gardens and beautiful flowers beds it is an idyllic location and a beautiful hotel- it was an ultimate luxury to stay for the weekend.

The moment I walked through the door into the Spa I immediately felt myself unwind. The pool looked so inviting, softly glistening in the soothing light that I had to take a dip; I even treated myself to a deep tissue massage which was the ultimate indulgence. It very soon became clear to me that this is exactly what I needed, an experience that I must repeat before too long.

Later that afternoon we sat down to indulge in a quintessentially English afternoon tea.
We enjoyed a glass of bubbly before drinking our tea from the gold gilded white china, I felt very inspired for the Jubilee party. It was even more special because Pennyhill Park prides themselves on their traditional afternoon tea and has won a top tea award (the equivalent of a Michelin star but for the tea world). It was exquisite, luxurious and inevitably decadent- I felt like Alice in Wonderland without the mad hatter!

It made me think- is there anything better than sipping tea & eating cake on a sunny afternoon surrounded by teapots and saucers? It is British tradition at its best.

I was so inspired by my wonderful afternoon tea at Pennyhill Park I am planning on doing lots of baking this weekend to make a cake fit for a queen ready for the Jubilee celebrations.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Nicola
