We have all just crowded around the computer screen to swoon over these pictures taken by our Cheltenham store – look who’s jumped into our beautiful Tosca bed . The lookalike loved the Tosca design and especially the golden balls on the bed! We are all very jealous of Cheltenham store manager Suzanne who got to snuggle up with him... If only it was the real David Beckham…sigh Have a lovely weekend! Love Holly x

We Brits are quite used to the rain and have grown up expecting April Showers, yet when it rains all I want to do is get back into my bed, curl up in the duvet tightly with a cup of tea and just a stack of magazines for company. If we did this on every rainy day here in England I don’t think anything would get done, so I will just have to embrace the weather tighten my trench coat and accessories every outfit with an umbrella. I have put together a quick style guide to wear while splashing in the puddles… I hope the sun shines this weekend but if not at least we all have an excuse to look beautiful in the rain or snuggle up and have a duvet day… Love Holly x

The running season is most definitely in full swing with the Brighton Marathon last weekend and the London Marathon just days away, thousands of people will be taking on the 26.2 mile challenge. After months of training and hard work, it all comes down to that one day! Some can never imagine running a marathon or the reasons why people want to do it. It would be difficult for me to put a finger on the exact moment which I felt inspired to transform into this state of insanity where I enjoy running for several hours at a time- yet I am addicted to running Marathons. The weather in Brighton on Marathon day was beautifully sunny but yet not too hot for running. As I stood at the start line I was thankful for the weather and the possibility of getting a sun tan! Amongst the nerves and emotions I was eager to start running and looking forward to seeing my friends (including Nicola and Holly from the Feather & Black team) and family waiting for me around the course. Nestled among the trees, peeping between the delicate ivy is the stunning, Pennyhill Park Hotel, Surrey. Surrounded by formal gardens and beautiful flowers beds it is an idyllic location and a beautiful hotel- it was an ultimate luxury to stay for the weekend. The moment I walked through the door into the Spa I immediately felt myself unwind. The pool looked so inviting, softly glistening in the soothing light that I had to take a dip; I even treated myself to a deep tissue massage which was the ultimate indulgence. It very soon became clear to me that this is exactly what I needed, an experience that I must repeat before too long. Later that afternoon we sat down to indulge in a quintessentially English afternoon tea. We enjoyed a glass of bubbly before drinking our tea from the gold gilded white china, I felt very inspired for the Jubilee party. It was even more special because Pennyhill Park prides themselves on their traditional afternoon tea and has won a top tea award (the equivalent of a Michelin star but for the tea world). I was so inspired by my weekend in the countryside with the lambs that I wanted to recreate the look in my own little home. Last weekend we spent a lovely day out in the fresh air at Gaston Farm in Slindon. I love any excuse to wear my Joules wellies, but the sunshine meant that it wasn’t muddy enough for me to get them out (I’ll admit I was a little disappointed)! The lambing was amazing, we were lucky enough to watch two wrinkly little lambs being born from a very close up view- although beautiful it made me a little bit squeamish at the same time. The sheep and lambs were all very friendly and it meant that we could get really close to them and give them a nice scratch behind the ears- they seemed to like it! I even got to cuddle an orphan lamb, named George and I fell in love with him- he was so warm, woolly and ticklish. The fluffy chicks were lovely, and really made us feel like it was Easter time. I fell in love with the countryside and was ready to sign up to buy a farm dreaming that I could wear my joules wellies and cuddle lambs every day- and then I thought of all the mucking out I would have to do and...

Today we have been really busy working with our lovely visual merchandiser Gemma to style a Garden room for the beautiful Lazy Susan cabins. Donna, the store manager of Feather & Black Chichester, made sure that we kept it practical and didn’t get carried away with filling the room with beautiful furniture and she chose us for an Evie Day bed - perfect for pulling out to have a nap on; and a Salisbury desk and bookcase for a stylish work space. Gemma says ‘The best way to style a room, whether it’s a garden room or a bedroom is to mix beautiful pattern with indulgent textures like cashmere and silks to make it feel cosy and homely. I took inspiration from the countryside and accessorised a subtle palette of creams and whites with bold floral pattern and natural woods.’ The floral wallpaper from Graham Sanderson brings the outside in, and the soft throws and cushions make it feel like a place to escape too- a little hideaway at the bottom of your garden. With Easter coming this weekend I thought it might be nice to share what Easter means to me... It is a tradition in my family to have an Easter Egg decorating competition. Out comes my sisters “making and doing” box and 3 generations of the "Freshwater" family will have a super fun time decorating eggs with all sorts of glitter, tissue paper, pipe cleaners, paints, stick on eyes, and pretty much anything we can lay our hands on. One year, we even had our 94 year old Grandad joining in. The best and most amusing part is blowing the eggs to empty them. Use a needle to make a hole in each end and blow through over a bowl to empty the contents. A lot of red faces ensue and plenty of giggles.. There have been many broken eggs, a few tears and some healthy competition. Some of us are more creative than others but it doesn't matter and it keeps us all entertained whilst we recover from a hearty lunch and of course a little chocolate indulgence. What do you think?
