Our delivery service includes a two man delivery to a room of your choice. This item comes with a full set of simple instructions for assembly. Alternatively we will assemble your furniture and take away all the packaging for an additional £25. Please choose the assembly option in the shopping basket to take advantage of this service.

We want you to have only the best experience with Feather & Black. If for any reason you are not happy with our furniture please notify us within 7 days of receipt and we will arrange for a collection and refund, however please note that bespoke items made specifially to your requirement can only be returned if they are faulty. The Bespoke Story

Nothing says uniquely yours quite like bespoke upholstery. For over 35 years our Northumberland factory has been hand-crafting beds, headboards, chairs and valances to our customers specifications.

With such an interest taken these days in interior design, making your own stamp on a room with a fabric that says something about your personality is a great thing to do. Our extensive collection of designer fabric books in store offers a huge choice. If you've already seen a fabric somewhere else we can custom make your upholstery in your own fabric too. The possibilities are endless...

How to Order

A beautiful bedroom in 4 easy steps...

Take a browse around this website to see what styles of upholstered beds or furniture take your fancy.
Choose your fabric and foot option - Contact any of our 34 stores nationwide to arrange an appointment to come in and go through the fabric options available. You can also choose from 6 different foot colour options to match to your chosen fabric. Please note that we can also make your bed in any non standard size.
Place your order in store and we'll get to work straight away. It usually takes around 8 weeks to make any bespoke upholstered items but it will definitely be worth the wait.

Tips for choosing your fabric

A patterned fabric is always the most impactful way to make your mark. Remember however that they can date quite quickly so if you're looking to use something floral, or perhaps the latest geometric design, it might be best to go for a smaller piece like a chair or blanket box in your statement fabric and mix with a plan tone of this on your bed.

Stripes are a classic option along with toile de jouy or a vintage floral print.

Don't be afraid to experiment with colour but it's always a good idea to create a mood board first, with paint and fabric swatches. This way you can see all the elements of the room together and you'll instantly see if something is going to clash. Use the latest interior magazines and create tears of textures and colours that you like. In no time you'll have a great starting point for your dream bedroom and what fun you'll have along the way.
