Macmillan

A winning relationship

Here at Feather & Black we feel that supporting a good cause is important,Macmillan Cancer Support

for us Macmillan Cancer Support was our first choice.

Macmillan Cancer Support aims to improve lives of people affected by Cancer. They provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support for those involved. A huge source of support, Macmillan help with all the things that people affected by Cancer want and need. It's not only patients who live with Cancer, so they also help carers, families and communities.

They guide people through the system, supporting them every step of the way, funding nurses and specialist health care professionals.

Macmillan constantly work to raise valuable funds through organised events such as marathons, coffee mornings and other sponsored events, and rely on partnerships like ours to help fund their work.

Here at Feather and Black we feel strongly about this issue and in July last year we formed a partnership with Macmillan, since then we have been getting involved with company wide fund raising, raising £2702 so far.

Our Managing Director Adam Black commented on why we choose to support MacMillan “I wanted to support Macmillan in this fund raising partnership because increasingly we all know someone close to us who is living with cancer. It affects our staff and our customers.  Macmillan does an outstanding job in raising awareness and supporting those affected by cancer; we are delighted to help in our small way”.Macmillan Cancer Support

Last year we held a ‘Penny in The Pound’ sales promotion giving Macmillan 1p for every £1 spent in our Chichester store, and we plan to hold a company wide 'Penny in the Pound' event this year.  One of Macmillan’s biggest fund raising events is the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’, anyone can get involved whether you just have some friends over for coffee and cake and ask them to donate a little money or a much bigger event inviting everyone in your local community.  What better way to raise money than over a cup of tea and some biscuits.  Over the last 6 months we have held our own coffee mornings in our stores to help raise awareness in their local community’s and raised much needed funds for Macmillan,we will continue to hold coffee mornings throughout 2010.  We also donate 50p for every customer that signs up to receive more information about our products and offers in store.

We’ll keep you updated on any forthcoming dates for your diary so keep and eye on this page!
